The challenge

The entrance was already tiled and finished, so the balustrade had to be fitted without breaking out or damaging existing surfaces. The client also wanted a weather-resistant finish that would keep its shine outdoors without annual repainting, and a design that read as a feature rather than a plain safety rail.

The Approach

How the project was delivered

STEP / 01
Site measurement

Exact rise, run and post spacing were measured on site so the balustrade could be built to fit the finished steps rather than adjusted in place.

Design

Post spacing, rail heights and decorative ball fittings were set out to meet handrail height requirements while keeping the visual proportions balanced.

STEP / 03
Fabrication

Grade 304 stainless tube was cut, bent and TIG-welded into posts, infill rails and a continuous capping rail in the workshop.

Finishing

Welds were dressed back and the assembly mirror-polished so joints are invisible in the finished surface.

Installation

Base plates were core-drilled and chemically anchored at pre-set points, protecting the existing tile finish.

Handover

Rail alignment and rigidity were checked, surfaces cleaned, and cleaning guidance given to the client.
